Dry Waller
November 16, 2021Phoenix Modular Elevator is looking for an expert Elevator Mechanic to service our customers throughout the Southern Illinois region. You will spend most of your time servicing a local maintenance route, and you will also perform the service and repair that these elevators need. You’ll lead occasional modernizations, residential installations, and modular elevator installations.
You’ll have a home base in our factory, where you’ll support our production of modular elevators, in a quality assurance/training role. You’ll also train helpers so that they can become mechanics as we grow.
We believe in rewarding our employees for good work and that means you’ll get a share of the profits you help us generate. If you’ve toyed with the idea of going independent, but like the security of a steady paycheck, this could be the best of both worlds.
Our ideal mechanic is:
→ Smart : You have a thorough knowledge of elevators, and broad experience on all types of elevators, traction and hydraulic, new and old, passenger and freight, residential and commercial.
→ Problem Solver : You have excellent troubleshooting skills and can fix anything, electrical or mechanical. You pride yourself on getting to the root cause so that callbacks are minimal.
→ Customer Focused : You realize our customers sign our paychecks, and take the time to fix their problems right the first time, explain what you’re doing, and don’t run up hours to try to inflate the bill.
→ Business Minded : You’re able to survey a job, determine the needed materials, and estimate the time, to quote service jobs to customers. And you work efficiently so that we meet our cost goals on larger projects.
Southern Illinois offers a nice change of pace from many big-city elevator operations. We’ll keep you busy, but you’ll be home every night and after hours calls are minimal. We give you time to preventively maintain elevators rather than being under a time crunch to hit an unreasonably high quota. And the area has great hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities as well as affordable housing.
We’re a small company, so we’re not burdened with corporate bureaucracy and rules. We value self-starters who take initiative to do their job well and improve things around them.
You must hold an Illinois Elevator Mechanic license or have the credentials to obtain one.
If you recognize yourself in the description above, and are energized by this opportunity, we can’t wait to talk to you. Send a cover letter and resume, and tell us why you’re eager to take on all the elevators in Southern Illinois. An actual human will personally review your information and start the conversation.
